Nicola
began leading choirs in 1993, when asked
to direct the St.Paul’s folk choir.
She has been directing several
incarnations of this group ever since,
evolving to what is now called
‘Oddities’, so named for it’s
unconventional choral style.
She
has co-led the Blue Skies Choir since
summer 2006,
has assisted in direction of
choral groups at Community in Song
weekends co-ordinated by Andy Rush, in
schools, through the community, at
conferences, at the Blues Skies Arts
Camp and through the Perth Community
Choir.
Her
experience also includes orchestral
conducting.
She was musical director for both
Jesus Christ Superstar, (Perth Community
Choir) and West Side Story (Brockville
Youth Stage and Dance Company).
In
2004 she was the interim director for
“Open Voices” which is a 120 voice
Kingston choir and her latest endeavour
is with the Tay Valley Community Choir
which is growing by leaps and bounds!
Since November 2004 she has led
this group which is now expanding to add
a youth choir.
